Clinical Uses of Suction-Drainage

Abstract

|
Suction drainage (REEi-VAC, Zimmer Co.) was utilized in the post-operative wound management for 50 cases of major operation. Analysis was based on the rate of wound healing and post-operative infection.
vio post-operative infection was found in 38 sterile operations out of 50, and those wounds healed primarily. 12 infected case showed 50% of primary wound healing.
The control group, 65 clean operation revealed 5 cases of post-operative infection (13%).
